Boys Tournament Teams

Tournament Teams at all grades set to go this summer!

With the lacrosse season rapidly approaching, the Northport Lacrosse Club wants to inform you about upcoming events, the spring season, and our boys summer tournament teams.

At the conclusion of our regular spring season, the Northport Lacrosse Club will officially offer an affordable Summer Tournament Lacrosse Team Program for all grades interested.   The number of teams per grade, and how teams will be determined will vary by grade and depend on many factors such as number of interested and available players, availability of coaching, individual behavior and competitive merit.

Costs will be born evenly by all players based on costs incurred by each respective  team.  Costs will include tournament fees, pinneys , officiating fees and anything else that comes up as needed  by any particular team.

The General Parameters of the Tournament Team program are as follows:

Who:  All interested lacrosse players.  Some restrictions may apply given availability of players and coaches to participate.

What:  Summer Lacrosse Tournament Program

When:  Starts the 2nd week of June and runs through the End of July, beginning of August. Practices/Scrimmages will be at least once a week.  Some Practices may be under lights in the evening.

Where:  Tournament Scheduling for planning purposes is below.  We hope to practice and scrimmage at the new turf fields at Bellrose.  We will also use the Pulaski Rd Elementary field.

Why:  To help our children further develop as fine young men and women, and to support the further development of our HS Lacrosse program for the benefit of the participating student athletes and the community.

Where necessary, teams will be divided into ‘A’ and ‘B’ groups to make the experience fun, competitive, and exciting for everyone involved.

The criteria for travel team evaluation will include the following:

Commitment to excel in the great game of lacrosse.

Attitude and work ethic

Lacrosse Skills

Lacrosse game sense

Athletic ability and athletic potential

Fitness level

Playing time in tournament games will be based on commitment, attitude, lacrosse skills, athleticism, lacrosse game sense, and the game situation.  Every effort will be made to maximize playing time but some situations may warrant some players playing more than others.
